I picked up a Faber-Castell PITT artist pen to work on more hand rendered typefaces. It’s going to take some time to get it just right but it’s fun to work with. If anyone has any other recommendations for doing some hand scripts other than calligraphy pens then please send them my way.

I’ve been shying away from the word "Artist" for about a year. That monicker had been stolen by any woman, man and child who picked up a pencil, snap a photo or recited a line or two. I had become jaded by the word… I’m not saying I’m a unique photographer of filmmaker, or my eye is for either sees things in a new way… It’s just that… I was made to produce beautiful pictures, both moving and not, and then here comes some yahoo with an expensive camera and that’s all…and they are allowed to call themselves an artist too! Sometimes I wish that you had to do years of residency like doctors do… One day I took a hard look at why I started to refuse to call myself this word. I started to laugh at myself, cause I knew it was silly. I’m an artist. And so are others. And from time to time Mary Sue and Bobby McGee will also call themselves so too… But we know, it’s just a phase.
